Weighing and measuring

Hi : I am a newbie, started logging my food two days ago. Big step for me... second step and it's a scary one: weighing and measuring my food! I have 60 lbs to lose, and I am so afraid I will fail again!!! Any words of wisdom and encouragement will be so appreciated.

Best advice I can possibly give: account for every single item of food you put in your mouth. Weigh everything, measure everything and be accountable, even if you're just snacking on something, account for it in your food diary. The only way to make sure you're making progress is to have an accurate food diary. You'll shed that 60lbs in no time.

hello Denndar, with anything it takes time to adjust. Don't do a fad diet. Don't do diets but embrace a lifestyle. Make small changes one at a time. Do a trade off were you take one food each week that is bad for you and trade it with a food that is good for you. As far as weighing yourself don't do all the time because one can be caught up in the number so much that they focus on numbers ( you will go crazy) as a pose to how they feel. number can be discouraging sometimes because if it does not move or they go up then emotions are out of wack. My suggestion would be to weigh and measure once a month. if you don't want to weigh in measure in and go based on how your clothes feel. 1st it is internal feeling healthy the 2nd the results will begin to show. It is a process be patient with yourself. I hope that this is helpful!! you got this! You can befriend me if you like. God bless:smile:

Here's the link to the blog I wrote on my one year anniversary. We are about the same age, and if I can do it, so can you!

Hey, I'm only 18 so I wouldn't say I have any wisdom but what I can say from experience is don't make any super dramatic changes in your diet because it'll be harder to stick with it, have fun with it and research fun healthy recipes to make if you enjoy cooking, and look through different kinds of workouts until you find one you enjoy. Also don't ever become obsessed with the numbers on the scale, the number doesn't define you as a person in any way. Which ties into my piece of advice that no matter where you are or where you get to in your fitness journey remember to love yourself for who you are. Get excited for how fit you'll be in the future but still love yourself in the present moment :) I hope that helped a little bit
