ways to keep motivated

I've been trying to lose weight for a while now. I've lost motivation and fell off
the wagon. How do you stay motivated? Do you award yourself? I've thought of some
Awards for myself that's not food. Like getting my belly button pierced if I lose enough
Or buy some of those cool zumba pants they wear.

I never count it as 'falling off the wagon' - if I want pizza/chocolate (and I can put away a fair amount when I'm craving it), I'll knock off calories the day before/after. So long as everything balances I don't feel guilty and the weight loss carries on.
Also feeling my clothes get looser on me is great motivation0 -
These days i just think.... "want to get shredded".
find that inspirational pics help.
What would i rather; be inconsistent and unfocused or get shredded?

I agree with you didn't fall off the wagon. You made a choice. It isn't the end of the world and it happens to all of us. I also agree don't deny yourself anything. I have to live with any choice I make about things I do with me. If a strawberry shortcake sundae from friendly's is what I want, it is what I get. Life is to short to deny simple pleasures. That doesn't mean I get one every day or when I want it... hehe:laugh: . Just noticing that you haven't done what you feel you should have is the first step. Make a small change today and another tomorrow and it will be right back in routine soon enough.
I have also become very good at talking to myself about a choice. (My thoughts are Do I need it? Do I have to have it? Can I live without it? Can I have a little bit and not want to go back for more? ) It works when shopping to. I can talk myself out of a lot of things that I know I should not do whether eat or buy. I don't always make the right choice for me but it does help. It may work for you. Everyone is different.
I don't know what you listen to but the very best motivation for me is music. I have several DJ sets and musical folders I love to listen to and I rotate through them depending on my mood right before I get on the treadmill in the morning and throughout the day. It really helps me move forward. I want to say it is like meditating. For me a good few songs, feel good or sad can just push me a bit further that day.
Last but never least - Don't worry though, you are NOT alone here!:flowerforyou:0 -
My motivation changes constantly. Here are some of my motivations I have used
1) being able to fit into the rollercoaster seat
2) being able to wear the watch my dad gave me when I was a teenager
3) talking to a woman without her screaming and running away (ok, that one still happens but I'm working on changing it. Might have to shower first).
4) Looking down in the shower and see taunto jr.
5) hot girls wallpaper on my laptop
Basically, anything and everything I can use as a motivation, I use. I encourage you to do the same.0 -
