How quickly did your measurements change?

I'm currently doing no-weigh November so I'm focusing a lot more on my measurements. Since the initial water drop I haven't seen any improvement in any of my measurements. I store most of my fat on my stomach so was at least expecting my legs/arms to get smaller. I've only been exercising about a month or so, running 3x a week, karate 2x, and then Pilates and the beginners body weight workout from nerdfitness for strength.
Is the problem that I should do more strength training or should I just expect slower results?

A month might be too soon. But from my experience and anecdotal reports, I think you will start to see some changes soon, along with general weight loss. I think the sweet spot is 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the intensity of your workouts (particularly the strength training one) and your nutrition plan (calorie deficit, I presume?)
Also, along with measurements, take progress pictures too. Sometimes you can see compositional changes visually (when comparing pictures) that don't necessarily manifest in measurements (muscle growing faster than bodyfat diminishing, for example). It's not common, but it can happen.
With a good nutrition plan and great effort committed to your workouts, I think you'll see the progress you want real soon. Good luck!0 -
I agree I don't think you'll see major changes in measurements without weight loss or gain. For me, I lose about an inch off the waist for every 7-10 pounds lost. For arms, it's about 1/2" - 3/4" for every 10 pounds. But like Chris said, you might see changes in composition in the mirror without changes in measurements.0
