Jillian Michaels Workout - Share, Results, Tips :)

Hey guys!
I know MFP has seen many topics concerning Jillian Michaels workout DVDs buuut.. here's another one!
First off, in the last two months I have completed the 30 Day Shred - not religiously - with doing 20 minutes of cardio of my own with it but when I did do it consecutively I maybe lost 1 pound and only firmed up a little, so I thought I'd switch it up.
This week I've been doing No More Trouble Zones every other day and jogging/walking 2-3 miles most days. I weigh 133 (at 5'2") and since my goal weight is between 120-115 - although if I weigh more with muscle I can accept that - it seems appropriate that I add more cardio to burn fat and then focus on toning. I just ordered the Boost Metabolism Burn fat DVD and my plan is to do that with NMTZ alternatively for 6 days - so 3 days each - and rest the 7th. I also eat pretty clean and stay in my calorie deficit, so more work is definitely needed.
So, if anyone has advice or workout tips they'd like to share for anyone feel free to post them here as well as your own JM workout plans!
For those who have achieved their goal bodies or are on there way with Jillian, please share your results and congratulations!

I couldn't stick with the 30 day shred because the repition killed me. I love to change up my workouts! I have a few of her dvds, including her older yoga one and extreme shed and shred. I think that extreme shed and shred would be an awesome one for you to try! Its pretty instense (At least for me!) and I like it. I love that you have the option to do half of the workout or the entire thing. BFBM is what I've done the past two days and that one is ROUGH! The first time I only got 30 minutes done, yesterday I finished it, but only after I paused it 25 times!!! Basically. I just think that all other workouts are effective. Everyone I've tried at least, but I also do some things from Chalene Johsnon and Denise Austin, so I wouldn't say that any weight loss I have achieved was ONLY BECAUSE OF Jilliian.0

I just got BFBM in the mail today and I watched some of it to get an idea of what i'm in for, I probably won't be able to finish it all at first either! I definitely agree that 30DS was booorrringg. I will be trying to change it up between the 3 I have as well. It does seem like you have to do a lot of other things with her videos for actual results doesn't it? Hmmm. Plus I don't I could "LOSE 5 LBS IN A WEEK", I mean I guess if every workout burned 500+ calories and I was inhuman enough to do them every single day a week (lol) I could lose ONE lbs a week.
Let's get real, 1 lbs = 3,500 calories so to lose 5lbs a week you'd have to burn..
3500(5) = 17500/7 = 2500
2,500 calories a day?
Or am I missing something? haha.
But hey I'll take what I can get!0 -
Hey there! I came across your post searching "Jillian Michaels results". I have completed 30 day Shred and Ripped in 30. Both were intense, and both gave me great toning results. I recently purchased 4 more of her DVD's from Groupon, it was an AWESOME deal! Anywho, I'm not sure if I want to start with No more trouble zones or Boost Metabolism. I run as well, so I try and switch my routine up every other day or so. Maybe, we could start a DVD together and motivate each other. I don't know if you have already started any of those DVD's yet, but I thought I would reach out to you.0

You have no idea how reassuring it is to know that someone too thought it was difficult to finish the BFBM in one go. By the start of the 2nd circuit, I'm usually panting and gasping for breath like normal people would feel after running a marathon.
Granted Jillian's workouts are not easy but it's very embarrassing that 10 minutes into the video is enough to floor me. How long can you keep up with her before you have to stop?0 -
i finished her body revolution last month it was pretty good the result pics are in my profile pics i lose 5 pounds and a few inches. i'm doing 30 day shred none stop for 30 days because i want the total results. its working out pretty good. i tryed some of her other ones there killer work out that leave me crawling at the end but you get use to it after a while0

I love Jillian! Love her! However, I too, switch it up. I run every other day and do her workouts every other day now. The weight is still coming off at a good rate and I am not bored. I switch up her videos and the levels depending on my mood. I have learned so much from her. So much in fact that I have incorporated HITT into my runs a few days a week. We stop and do planks, burpies etc. I need to buy some more of her videos so looking forward to this topic to see what to buy.0

I recently did a programme called '30 day slim down' which is a mixture of 30ds, bfbm, and nmtz. I really enjoyed it as I wasn't just following 1 workout for a month and every day is differnt from the day before. I need another boost so I am planning on doing it again next month but this time also mixing some running in as well.0

I started doing Jillian back in January. I started with RI30 then on to 30DS then to 6week6pack and then Killer Abs. Then I started just going back through the rotation of dvds. I started out at about 162 lbs and am now down to 133 (5'2 also!) I'm borrowing her 90 day revolution from a coworker. I like OP am trying to get down to about 120ish so Im hoping that this will help me lose those last 8 lbs or so. I just did the first work out today and I think I might do it again tomorrow just so that I'm starting it on a Monday. I bought a resistance band today so I'm all set.0

I completed 30DS and RI30 and have one more workout and I will have completed phase I of BR. Monday I will start Phase II (month 2). I have definitely gotten stronger and toner but I do have a long way to go. I've lost 28lbs so far and do limit my calories to 1200-1400 most days.
I remember when I started 30DS I thought I was going to die! Now I have slight trepidation starting the next level but I know if I push it and complete it I will be better for it. I don't normally spend as much as I did on BR, but I do believe it was well worth the money spent.
Good luck!0 -
Hi! I just started Jiiians Shred-It with weights kettleball video. Has 2 30 min exercises and I was wondering how you log this in MFP?? So far I have been using Aerobics, general. But Im not sure that is the best way to log it. Any tips? Wish the videos were in the data base.0

Circuit training is about the closest thing because it would incorporate weights and cardio.0
