Failing to exercise

I had a 6 week gym membership over the summer and love love loved it.
When that ran out I continued to exercise at home with DVDs.
Recently I had an inflamed appendix and was bed ridden for a week and a half. Since then I cannot find the motivation to workout. All I do is walk my dogs.
I want to do Jillian Michael's 6 week 6 pack but I need a kick up the butt as I can never bring myself to just get on with it.
Help?

Not a whole lot of help really lol. Some days I dread working out, some days I even try to talk myself out of it (I work out 7 days a week) so I figure one day off is okay. BUT then I remember how far I've come, how hard I've worked and I owe it to MYSELF to get my *kitten* up and move. I made a routine and that helped a lot!!
I don't have a gym membership, I'm a stay at home mom of 2 kids. I found that trying to exercise with them around was impossible lol. I always felt like it was half assed. So I started getting up at 4am. I had my usual 2 cups of coffee, watched the news and then pushed play on my DVD. It was hard at first, but then it became habit and now, most days, I don't even wait til my usual time to start the dvd, I cut the news short and just go.
So maybe if you wake up knowing, okay I'm gonna wake up, have coffee or breakfast or walk the dog whatever, and then I'm gonna get right to my work out, that might help? It sets you up for a great day and makes eating right easier because who wants to sweat like a dog for an hour every morning just to eat away all your lovely progress?
Hope that helps, it's what has saved me in this. I did Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I finished 3 days ago, but I'm still doing it every morning, level 3, and then more arm, leg and butt workouts afterwards. It's awesome, try it if you haven't yet.0 -
You have done fantastic so far and you look great. Trying to find motivation can be a difficult thing but you have done it once before you can do it again. Maybe doing it first thing in the morning would help. That way it is done and over with.
What motivated me when I took a break is that I put on all the weight I lost and it was difficult to tie my shoes. Then I knew it was time to start and get serious about my health. I have a image of who I want to be and the only way I am going to get there is to get off my *kitten* and move.
I know it is in you to work out and be that healthy person you want to be. I know you can do it! I will support you and if I have to get on a plane and kick you in the butt I will.hahaha
you got this!0 -
An inflamed appendix sounds pretty serious. Are you sure you are up to Jillian Michaels? Being bed ridden means you lost muscle mass, and yeah that sux. But don't go overboard trying to get right back to your previous shape. Be nice to yourself. :flowerforyou:0

Zozo you've accomplished so much and there is nothing that can stop you from getting the perfect result that you want. Just give yourself some time to fully recover physically and only maintain your current form in the meanwhile. Be patient and enjoy the process, the final result will come soon.0
