hummm, pretty much like the title says.. I generally burn around 1000 calories exericising cause im a fanatic..either I do it all out or nothing at all...so everyday I would have massive amount of calories leftover because I can't even eat 1200 calories in the first place. I try to balance out my protein/carb/fat intake..and following a zig zag diet ( idk if that's what it called ) I get sick when I eat so much.
I don't eat processed food, I don't even eat packaged food that much ( meaning I'd rather have fresh picked carrots than these sold in bags). I try to have some grain and beans in my diet but I can't, it makes my stomach bloated and makes me sick... I eat alot of fruits and vegetables, mainly vegetables but they are too little in caloric value.. I like nuts, but im not to good with the fat in nuts..they usually run up my fat intake pretty fast.. then I would be left with loads of carbs and proteins.. oh boy now..i dont know what to eat to eat enough.. on top of all of that I am a ovo-vegetarian meaning I only eat eggs. any advice on how to increase my intake without making my stomach explode or excessive trips to the toilet would be appretiated greatly...
ps..sorry, I am full of problems

Is your weight loss coming too fast? Or are you not losing enough because of under-eating? According to Joey Baird (sp?) the nutritionist on the Today program, you need about 1000 calories/day to have enough to fuel weight loss. I have not been able to find any research to support the common claim that under-eating actually slows the metabolism.
If you hate eating I don't see what's wrong with eating something dense and caloric like nuts to up your calorie intake.0 -
dachinababe, I'm in the same boat as you. I had my gallbladder removed last September, but actually gained weight afterwards because of inability to "flush out my system" so to speak. It has been a struggle, so I started on this site. I found that every little bite of anything made me feel bloated and sometimes crampy. The feeling alone was disgusting, but then having difficulty putting on a pair of pants I had no problems with the day before and wouldn't have a problem with a couple of days later was frustrating. I had/have tried everything I can think of, so I recently also went vegetarian. I still eat seafood (can't ever give it up), but also find that since going vegetarian and eating healthier, it's hard to get those calories eaten, especially since I seem to have a lot more energy without the meat and grease and am also burning 1000 calories a day. I find that if I "cheat" on any type of processed food even a little, I go back to the same problem.
So I appreciate you posting about it. Nice to know I'm not alone in my plight. It's also encouraging to see someone so young taking care of herself in a healthy way. Gives me encouragement in raising my eight year old daughter.0 -
It sounds to me like you guys need the help of a professional. A certified dietician or a nutritionist. Sometimes we all need a little help. There are lots of ways, even for vegitarians, to get the nutrition they need. the only other thing I can say is, slowly adding calories to your diet daily is probably the best way to do this. Make a plan, and add something small (like 50 to 100 calories every 2 to 3 days. In 2 weeks to a month you should be where you need to be.0
