Calories Confusion - Iceland Chicken Tikka Masala

Just purchased the above from local store. Its the 375g Indian Takeaway Chicken Tikka Masala. The back of the packet suggests 508kCal per meal, the information on the iceland website and on myfitnesspal suggest 389kCal per meal..

Any recommendation which one I should use?

    Definitely the packet information
MFP entries are entered by people, so there could be errors or variations in brand or serving, etc.
And websites might not be updated like packages would be. And I usually pick the higher of conflicting calorie information

Yep, MFP is probably out of date, supermarkets change their recipes all the time.

Thanks, that's what I've assumed. Not come across such a variation before.

Frankly, I'd add them together and use that, as 375g of what is essentially meat and oil is likely to have a lot more than 500 calories.

    Trust no one.

Check the weight (grams, lbs or size), before making the change. Check the package and find out if the amount per serving listed is the same as what MFP has in its website.

some of the calorie information on this site is really dodgy anyway... also use the packet
