Calories in gingerbread cookie?

This is probably quite a silly question, but how many calories are in one gingerbread cookie? I ate one at my church tonight and it was about 4 oz and moist/chewy. First one I've had in years, so I really don't know the calorie content of it. Any estimates?

Search for a gingerbread cookie entry in MFP's data base that's closest to your estimated 4oz., add a couple more calories to be on the safe side is what I would do.

It's so frustrating finding certain foods on this site because there are so many different brands of each food :/ and almost each one is different. I could of had 60 calories to 200 in that one cookie.

Thank you, 100 calories sounds about right. The cookie was small, size of my palm. Normal size.

Thank you, 100 calories sounds about right. The cookie was small, size of my palm. Normal size.

The info provided is for a one ounce piece of gingerbread (which is more like cake than a cookie, but skip that for a second). Before you said it was a 4 oz. cookie (which is a pretty big cookie; I can't remember the last time I had one that was more than 3 oz.), now you say it was small. I don't know how big your palm is, but my hands are on the small size for a woman, and a cookie the size of my palm would be at least 2 oz, more if it was a thick cookie.

Unfortunately, a lot of the entries in the MFP database are for gingersnaps, which are thin, crispy cookies, and you said yours was soft. If I were you I would look for a ginger cookie in the database that is described as "soft" or "chewy," preferably one that gives the weight of the cookie, and adjust the serving size to account for at least 2 oz. of cookie (or 4 oz., if you're confident of that, but I really can't imagine anyone describing a 4 oz. cookie as "small.")

I meant to put 2 oz, I realized my mistake. My hands are tiny. I'm a small boned person, the cookie was small.
