Ugly is subjective. What some see as art is ugly to someone else. If we all had the same exact tastes in clothes and facial features, it would be a rather boring world.

What is wrong with her dress? too much cleavage? or because here boobs are big (pretty sure most of the time Genes are to blame)?
Why would it be awkward? I would go as far and guess the big breast is part of the reason the dad noticed her mom.
Also, being a Gypsy I would think the dad is proud of her.
