Pre-Workout supplements

I've been having trouble with my energy levels and it's hurting my gym performance. A cup of coffee just doesn't do it for me and energy drinks just arent good on a regular basis plus theyre expensive as F**k.

Does anyone use a pre-workout supp?
What brand?
What should I look out for when buying etc?

thanks

-Adam

I use them for much the same reason. Not all the time, rather when my energy isn't quite where it should be, or I know I have a particularly tough workout ahead.

To find the brand I now use I went around the sports stores and asked for sample sachets of pre-workouts. They were quite happy to give me a load of different types so I could try them out first and see how I reacted to them. Better than spending a huge amount on a tub of powder only for it not to be right for you... or the flavour might be blimmin' awful (I hated quite a few of them for that reason alone!)

    Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to go swindle some shop owners for some samples :P

I just focus on getting enough sleep and taking my multi vitamin everyday. You can make sure you eat some form of protein like greek yogurt for example before and after your workouts. Sometimes you just got to push yourself, maybe get some rocking music going on an ipod
