I tried to make these and they ended up soggy and burnt :grumble:
I think I had cut the slices too thick, haha.
This happened to me when I made strawberry chips for the first time! The key is to slice whatever fruit you are using paper thin, literally as thin as you can possibly slice. They will seem kind of soft when you take them out of the oven, but they will continue to crisp up as they cool! Hopefully that helps!0 -
Gonna try it today!
What did you think?0 -
I use a counter top dehydrator for apples sprinkled with cinnamon, bananas and fresh pineapple, keeps alot longer than fresh so a bulk deal on fruit purchases doesn't mean throwing alot away if the household has a low fruit consumption rate. ie single person.0

I tried these today and the ones that turned out were really good. Most of them stuck to the wax paper though. Has anyone else had this happen?
Should i have used anything else for the bottom of the tray?0 -

The recipe calls for parchment paper or a silicon baking mat. Try one of those.0 -

200 degrees is a really low temperature that's why it's so long.0
