hi everyone.just to let you know the level of fitness i am in, i am 5'0'' and 162.4 pounds ( never exercise).so i just started my first week of insanity. i finished the fit test yesterday and "finished" the pylometric cardio circuit today. OK so i did half of it which is why im here. i feel incredibly guilty for not doing the whole video but i couldn't breathe any more. i have sports induced asthma, which means if i do heavy exercise i start getting burning in my lungs. i am following the meal plan .
should i feel incredibly guilty for not finishing the video?

Don't stress over it. Keep doing what you are able to do and eventually you'll notice you're doing more and more until you are able to finish the DVD's without stopping. I've done Insanity and it's crazy hard and you're going to hurt and feel like *kitten* for at least a week! But it's worth it, the results are hard to deny as long as you give it 100% each time. Don't ever shut the video off, let it keep playing while you catch your breath and jump back in as you're able. Keep your chin up!0

Just do your best! Don't push too much that your asthma will be triggered though. You should't be doing Insanity since it is really tough but if you really want to just don't push too hard I finished Insanity but I've never done a workout from start to finish completely, except for the Core Cardio and Balance. Check out my results on my pictures I lost 13 lbs, I just ate clean and kept track with MFP0

Dont sweat it
I make a rule that i have to do 5 reps each after i burn out. I have a cardiac arrhythmia-i feel your pain. Do what you can and youll improve!0 -
Dont feel bad!!! I started yesterday with the fitness test, yes just the pre test before starting the program and today i feel like ive been hit by a train:0) At least we are trying.0

I recommend doing something lighter. Insanity is all cardio based, and has a very high intensity and duration. With the sports induced asthma, try something a little less intense for starting off, especially something within a DVD...Maybe P90 or something rather. I would not feel guilty over it, but rather error on the side of safety;)0

Hey - I borrowed it from a friend and it's still sitting, in the box, on top of my TV! You are doing WAAAAYYYY better than I am!0

That's expected. Insanity is pretty hardcore for beginners. You should check out Shaun T's T25 if you can get your hands on it. It's like Insanity's younger brother. Plus it's only 25 mins.0

True! I am doing T25 now and I feel like I did Insanity afterwards lol and there are modifications in T25 that are low impact it can help you a lot0 -
Amazing workout and amazing results!. Don't feel guilty because you managed to do half the time, look at the positive - you attempted it! First initial session is going to be hard.. But still stick through it, work for it! Each day you will suffer but as days -> weeks go on, it will eventually be a little easier I.e your body will adapt, but also challenging as you'll work harder (naturally)
There are no short cuts to long term success.. Right now you have to think about the end state goal -> which puts value on todays workout - its your motivation, that's your incentive.. We work hard today for a better tomorrow, going through the pain, to come out at the other end stronger.. the rewards are amazing. Feel better, look better... But Right now you have to focus on yourself, remind yourself why you are doing it..
Do what it takes to get you there. I.e document your journey, keep a diary, take photos, blog about it.. anything to keep you moving forward.. take pics back, front and side pose.. record your measurements etc...
Good luck with your goals0
