Advice for hot pilates?

Hey all,
My favorite yoga studio just started offering hot pilates. I find that group fitness classes keep me more motivated and have more accountability than just hitting the treadmill, so I want to check it out. But I am nervous. I've never done hot yoga or hot pilates. What can you tell me about the experience? What should I expect? What kind of results did you see?

The biggest benefit I have had with hot yoga/pilates is that is makes me very conscious about what I'm putting in my body before and after class. On days I know I'm going to hot yoga, I always drink plenty of water and only eat what I know will fill me up, but also won't taste gross in that hot, sweaty environment! I love the hot environment because you sweat to DEATH, but don't let the heat fool you - just because you are sweating a lot does not necessarily mean your heart rate is up/you are burning more cals0

I *just* took mine for the first time and I'll say holla to the person about what you're eating. (I know this is 3 years later, but for future readers's sake). I had a simple, small dinner a full hour before class and still wound up feeling too full. I will say at least in my class, an Inferno certified, which is totally based on interval training method, it was SUPER heart-pumping, fast rate of movement. So yeah, it's way more than being on gym machine for an hour, much more akin to a fast-paced fitness class like maybe step or something aerobic (though it mixes in anaerobic too). Also - I found at least four of the exercises we did were too high-impact for my bad joints, so modify or just be wary if that's an issue for you.0

To the Hot yogaclass u'd better come with no food in your stomach at all. Drink water before and bring 2 bottles of H2O in to the class. Also have fat towel with you for better absorbtion to lay down on it, and minimum clothes (little bra and very little shorts)0
