Tdee-25%....Anyone?

I know that it is not recommended unless you have a massive amount of weight to lose but does anyone at all use the tdee-25% method and it work? I think the most recommended is tdee-20% but I do feel with me being 4ft 10 and currently 192 lbs, the 25% wouldn't be a bad route to go. I use the scooby calculator only.

That is an aggressive goal- would TDEE-25% put you below your BMR?

I honestly would recommend starting with TDEE - 20% and seeing if the scale moves. If you under eat, you risk stalling your progress, or just plain feeling deprived and losing motivation. Just my opinion though! Congratulations on starting your weight loss journey :)

Yes, I did TDEE-25% for a number of months. The results were spectacular. HOWEVER - and this is a huge HOWEVER - I created that deficit by adding in very large amounts of exercise, so the -25% was taken off of a much-elevated TDEE.

It took an immense amount of work. I am now down to the point where such a large deficit is no longer supportable.

I just switched to TDEE - 25% today... but I was eating 1200 calories before that which is an even bigger deficit than TDEE - 25%.

It will definitely work. Calories in < Calories out.

As you get closer to your goal think about transitioning to TDEE - 20% and then 15%.

I have been on this journey a little over a year now & thanks :) but no, my bmr is 1592 and tdee-25% at my age, height, weight and exercise level is 1643 so I rounded it up to 1650 for the -25%...20% allows me 1753 but i dnt want to eat that much

Thanks for your reply. I do exercise maybe 4 times a week for about 30-40 min each time so I selected the 1-3 hrs weekly on scooby website. I dnt workout hardcore so that was something else that worried me when choosing the tdee method. I wanted to make sure it wasn't telling me to eat too much because I dnt exercise hardcore for several reasons and i am ok with that

As you mentioned in your original post it's not recommended unless you have a huge amount of weight to lose. Your ticker shows 30-ish pounds to go. *shrug*

32 lbs more to get too my GW of 160 and 42 lbs to get to my UGW which will put me at 150 lbs and even then at my height of only 4'10-150 lbs will prob still be too big for my frame but I do understand what you mean
