It's a big day for me....

...Because I finally hit my goal weight!!!!!

I've struggled with my weight since I was a freshman in college. I was a stick all through childhood and high school and then I gained 40 lbs my freshman year of college. When I transferred schools and moved back home, I dropped 20 of those 40 lbs but I was still overweight.

Last summer, I went through my first big breakup that destroyed my self esteem. I was depressed and all I did was eat. Then Hurricane Sandy happened and while the power was out, I ate like crap. This continued after our power got turned back on and straight into the holidays.

One morning right before Christmas I woke up and really noticed how much weight I had gained. I felt disgusting and uncomfortable and decided to make a change. I was a member of MyFitnessPal already but never used it. I made it a goal to use it and to educate myself on how to lose weight correctly so I would keep it off for life. I don't meant to sound corny, but this website changed my life.

I started working out regularly, but I didn't get serious about my eating habits until January 1, 2013. Here's the first picture I ever took of my body in workout mode:

At the time I was running 3 times a week and doing the weight machines at the gym. On New Year's Day, I started doing the 30 Day Shred as well. These were my results at the end of the month:

(That's only a 5lb loss but I look completely different!)

I stopped doing the 30DS (even though I loved it, I hate working out at home.) I started doing Pilates and Barre classes along with my running, which really changed my body. Here's me about 2 months in, after doing Pilates/Barre:

By my college graduation in May, I had lost 20 lbs!! In the summer, I worked at a YMCA and learned how to lift weights. Best decision ever. My body looked amazing and I felt great. I maintained about 129 all summer

(My first time(s) wearing a bikini and a tight dress without wanting to cry lmao)

I'll admit, these past few weeks I've been having a rough time with logging. I've been super busy and have had a lot of parties plus I just started a new relationship so we've been going out to eat all the time, haha. So I'm always bloated and thought I had gained, even though I'm very active at my job and still work out regularly. I decided to weigh myself this morning to see what the damage was and the scale said 125!! Which was my goal weight that I set for myself almost a year ago.

Here's a pic from right after I weighed myself, wearing the same sports bra/shorts:

And a side pic:

I'm very proud of myself and this has motivated me to keep up logging, even if I'm partying/going out to eat. It'll be worth it in the end.

My best advice to everyone is not to give up! And not to beat yourself up if you mess up one day, especially if you had made progress. It takes a very long time to see true results and slow and steady wins the race <3333

Btw my current stats:

Weight: 125
Chest: 36"
Waist: 28"
Hips: 34"

:)

(oh and I'm 24 years old and I'm around 5'1"-5'2")
