cardio exercise with weights

Can anyone tell me if it makes a difference when doing cardio with 3lbs or 2lbs weights in your hands,does it really burn more calories and put you in the fat burning zone

It might burn a few more calories per hour - not very much. Most people don't recommend doing cardio holding weights in your hands because it can cause cause back & joint injuries. You're better off just increasing the pace of your cardio. And if you're not currently following a good strength training program, i would do that too, to keep your metabolism up.0
