I want to incorporate some veggies in with my lunch without using the frozen veggies because I am also trying to cut back on sodium. I have access to a microwave at work. Please give me your best fresh veggie recipes! I like all veggies except carrots and celery!

Most frozen veggies don't have added sodium. I like all veggies in their natural state steamed. I have a Tupperware bowl with a vented lid for microwave cooking.

Hmmm the labels on the veggies in my fridge have sodium...maybe their in a sauce of some sort. I'll look at the grocery this weekend for some that arent in any sort of sauce. Thanks!!

The straight vegetables should have very little sodium, as most of them are just steamed and then flash frozen. That would be one of the problems with going fresh to microwave- personally I don't have the time to properly steam broccoli during my 15 minute break.

A couple options I can think of:

Cook them half way before you go to work, pack them in tupperware, add some water and nuke when ready.

    Roast/ dehydrate them.

    Eat fresh.

Just about everything on the planet has sodium. It doesn't have to be added. Vegetables naturally have some sodium content. Read the ingredient list for added sodium which just plain frozen veggies shouldn't have.
