I want to do some lifting at home. Can anyone recommend a simple program / equipment to start with? I have about 45 minutes a day I can work out before work. Also, i have a bad knee I love lunges and squats but, I don't want to mess my knee up further. Looking for any suggestions!

Do you have any access to a gym? You might be better off starting w/ a class or a training session.
If not, this is a "program picker"

Some great beginner strength programmes here (both gym based or just body weight exercises): http://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/wiki/faq#wiki_getting_started0
