Hi
I'm really struggling to lose weight, i'm 5ft 3 and weigh circa 9.5stone. I had a back op earlier in the year so struggling to maintain a decent form of exercise.
What can i do to aid in the weight loss, i eat circa 1300 calories a day, i'll be honest its sometimes less which probably doesn't help
Any hints, tips, suggestions would be great

are you overweight ??
how much do you want to lose
i think at lower weight you need a lot of patience
plus cardio and strenght training
i would say dont put yourself at a deficit and lose lbm.0 -
how long have you been doing it? How accurate is your food measuring? At 9.5 stone loss is going to be veeeery gradual, like less than half a pound a week probably - and that's fine! You are well within the normal weight range for your height. I'm the same height and at 153 I am losing around 1/2 lb a week as well and I've got a stone and a half on top of you0

I'm a stone heavier than I want to be. I've been eating well and exercising gradually since August and prob lost 2lbs. I've been doing Pilates and light weight toning
The food measuring probably isn't as accurate as it could be, have been slack at work so lunch can range0 -

You lose weight with what you eat. If you are not logging accurately, you may well be eating more than you think.
Take a step back, reassess your daily calorie need, start weighing and measuring everything and give it 2-3 weeks to start to make a difference.
Good luck!0 -
Your BMI is already well within normal range at 23:21 so losing weight is going to be a very slow process at the best of times. Re- set you goals to .5lb a week and eat back a min of 50% of your exercise calories, log, weigh and measure everything and give it time...0

I am 5"2" and 53 yrs old. I am small and losing weight is very slow. I look at it as a % of my weight. The lower you weigh and less you have to lose, the higher the % you are losing. It is a slow process but it does come off. One thing that works for me is to weigh myself every day - very controversial as you have to be able to accept a 1-3 lb increase even when you are following food and exercise plan. Doing this keeps me from shoving things into my mouth as I have to face the scale in the morning. I log food and exercise and read these motivational posts to get motivated for the day.0

You're probably eating more than you think. Buy a food scale and weigh everything.0

Math can be your friend, if you play by math's rules. :flowerforyou:0 -
Would swimming be possible for you with your injuries? Would be a bit more cardio than what you're doing currently, might help to get things moving.0
