Help!!! I'm considering an armband/wristband - something - to track my calorie output better. Anyone have any opinions of BodyMedia FIT versus Fit Bit or any other trackers that sync to My Fitness Pal? I'm on a mission! I work full time and I'm going back to college after 20+ years after raising my kids. I'm in a program called Community Health Education with an emphasis on nutrition - between my first nutrition class and my fitness and wellness class, it's been quite an eye opening experience. I like gadgets and technology - I just want to get the most bang for my buck. I liked the looks of the BodyFit system but I'm not all that keen on paying a monthly subscription? Thoughts? Ideas? Advice???? Many thanks!!!

Nikki

I also would like to know what everyone uses.

I have had the FitBit One (washed and killed) and the Fitbit Flex, that I sent back as the wrist band and I had a personal hate relationship - never could easily clasp it on.

I have used a fitbit ultra, HRM, Loop, and bodymedia link. There are a lot of postings on all of these so do a search and find a ton of thoughts and opinions. I like my Loop a lot but it is having start-up issues, I use my HRM with it. For me the gold standard is the Bodymedia but it is costly with the monthly subscription. The Fitbit and most that are like it are just pedometers on steroids and they think a step is universal regardless of incline and effort. The calculations for burn is based off a statistical norm so for me it was off by almost 30% and when I followed it I would get into a binge cycle. It also did not seem right to me that I burn the same calories sleeping as I would standing at a desk and that is how FB spreads them graphically. The are a lot of people that believe in it though but if I was just going to rely on an "Activity" tracker it would be the Loop by Polar even with its issues now.

BTW the loop is doing a better job counting steps for me because it is wrist worn vs. the FB but the calories are still a bit off from the bodymedia and my loss is consistent with the BM so an extra 100-200 calories is nice LOL.
