That's great!
See, a lot of people think they have to go on a crazy strict diet, when really, it's about portion sizes and foods instead of nasty junk food.0 -
That is a nice thing, and that is the biggest problem with people. They just do not understand what a proper portion of something is. You can eat pure sugar if you want, but who would want to exchange a small portion of sugar with a big meal of healthy food.0

Way to go!!
That's awesome and I'm glad you found something you can stick with and enjoy doing!!0 -
Exactly!!! I know it's not for everyone, some people have food triggers and such - but for me my trigger is denying myself something! As soon as I tell myself I can't have something it's all I want! I'm much better off having a fun size 3 musketeer and enjoying it and counting it then telling myself no candy and before long I end up in under a bag of wrappers. Everything in moderation works best for me0

this is how i lost my first 20 lbs.. now i've gained back like 10 of it.. but i got married and went on a honeymoom.. now i'm kicking myself in the butt trying to get back on track.. so far this week.. I SUCK!!! but i've again cut out all drinks but water!! and slowly but surely getting back on track for weight loss... i'll eat what i want and like.. just less of it...0

Honestly ... this isn't a diet it's portion control ... you can eat just about anything you want within reason! Way to go on that realization and being comfy with it0
-
Don't get me wrong..sometimes its hard to stop myself at the half meal mark! but i gotta do it and i like the feeling of not feeling overly stuffed better.0

Yep, makes a difference-- Now I know that the 'healthy' bowl of cereal I ate was really enough for 3 people0

isnt it crazy0 -
That's how I do it and I've been losing weight for about 4 months now!!
I rather learn how to eat the foods like vs forcing myself to eat "healthy" food LOL (I'm such a picky eater!)
I tried turkey bacon for awhile but yeah just tasted like cardboard and to me when I think of turkey, I want a thanksgiving dinner turkey!! LOL
I eat the jimmy dean bacon that only have 45cals and I limit myself to 2 slices. I just cook just enough for myself and my husband0 -

I got smaller bowls and spoons in my house for this particular reason! My boyfriend calls them " baby utensils".
So true though about eating whatever you want, but following the serving size. I eat whatever I want.!! wooo!0 -
Well said!!
I posted this idea before.to myself, this is not a diet but a life change.I feel I have done it ALL-pills-fasting aka starving-shakes just soup etc.Not saying it was easy.anything really worth it is not easy.I had to experiment figure out what worked and what didn't-for me.It may not work for everyone and I pray all on here struggling with or maintaining their weight that they find that one day the *Ahhhh* factor creeps in .
hang in there KPaden darling..~w~:flowerforyou:0 -
Still, for good health, you should be trying to get some vegetables and other healthy foods in there... :flowerforyou:0

That was my approach too when I first got started losing weight. I would eat what I wanted but only half of it...(ie a Jimmy John's sub) I would keep the other half if I was hungry later but seldom needed it. Over time I also started making a few healthier choices..then lots of healthier choices...but still know that anything I want is ok as long as I moderate the portion size...0

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS!! There a lot of ppl depriving themselves and stressing themselves out over "normal" cravings... Ive seen ppl freak out over and over again b/c they gave in to a small slice of pie or the occasional light beer... ppl need to just relax and just portion.
I have lost 6lbs so far and I have been stress free thanks to that understanding. Im so glad it is working for you too. KUdos

I feel the same way. For the first time in my life I have allowed myself to eat anything I want but I make sure it is counted in my food diary. As long as I stay under my numbers I am fine and HAPPY! Way to go girl!!0

AMEN, SISTER! This way of eating is also how I roll.
Don't you feel like you know some secret? I want to shout from the rooftops "EAT WHATEVER YOU WANT, PEOPLE! WALK AWAY FROM THE LEAN CUISINE! SPIT OUT THAT SLIM FAST!".
No WONDER I couldn't 'stick with it' before I figured this out.
We must continue to spread the good word

Yeah, its the best way to start a diet. I have myself do half servings of carbs and sweets. I also know that if you have a huge portion of something, its really the first few bites that are incredible. Then when you really think about it, the bites become less satisfying. I start feeling like I am taking the other bites for granted and just trying to finish it. Like, I love Chipotle so so much, I used to be able to eat a whole veggie burrito. Now I try to split it with a friend and it is now more satisfying because I am not stuffing myself and enjoy each bite more. I love the feeling of not needing to eat so much!0
