It's gross. Just sayin'. My experience wasn't pleasant. It definitely does have slimy strings and chunks in it like the video shows him spitting back in his cup. The texture alone was enough to make me throw up.

I have drunk aloe vera juice on occasion. Mine did not have chunks. I bought mine at both Cub, a local grocery store and at a coop. It is good to drink if you are constipated. So yes I would say it is good for digestion. I find it bitter. I pour about two ounces and drink it quick. I try to follow it with something to eat.

I've had both the diluted version available in shops (no perceived benefit) and the concentrated expensive one you buy from a distributor (obvious and noticeable benefits).

You get what you pay for. And the concentrated one came in plain or peach or cranberry so I mixed them together like a fruit punch.

The first week or so of taking it is pretty difficult, it's a acquired taste but once used to it - it's fine. Seems to taste better really cold like a soda.

Can do great things for your skin, hair, and all your mucous membranes as well as your alimentary canal. My IBS went dormant and my skin (acne) cleared up, my joints didn't feel so creaky and I had more energy.

Works better for some people than others. Not one size fits all. And as I say the stuff that seems to work is expensive.

    Hope that helps :-)

Of course recommends you drink it!!!! They make more money!!!! Digestion issues happen because of problems with the digestive tract or lack of enzymes. That's what you should have checked first before forking out hard earned money that may not have any effect at all and then you still have to figure out what's really wrong. Go see a gastroenterologist.

I remember my mom buying a gallon of this stuff, and it ended up going bad because it was that gross. And I also agree with Ninerbuff that you should see a doctor before buying the juice.

LOVE the stuff. I buy mine at Wal-Mart in the pharmacy section. Besides myself, I know two other people in my life who have used it to clear up their heartburn and acid reflux issues in as little as 3 months drinking 8 oz. daily! It WORKS PERIOD

Some people have started selling this stuff in my area too! I've asked for evidence http://on.fb.me/176TCeI

The only thing I could find in NHS Evidence is DISCOURAGE people from drinking it, and.... laxative effects.

I drink a couple of bottles a week. I love it.

In Taiwan (where I used to live) they drink it daily.

I note from the report it's premise is to establish the cost effectiveness for different types of IBS management interventions. (Page63) the two approaches were pharmacological and mental plus Aloe Vera which came 5th out 9 things tested.

I wonder how come it worked so well for my IBS (and I know quite a few fellow sufferers who have had reduction in IBS symptoms too) and how come they can make sweeping statement about not using it to treat IBS.

Oh wait they .... I forgot! They WANT people to use drugs with awful side effects to treat EVERYTHING remember? Hmmmm it's becoming a lot clearer now...

I agree. I used to buy the berry flavored from GNC. It works best on an empty stomach. It is great stuff!

Well, you obviously have no idea how science works, so I'm not sure I should even bother with a response, but n=1 is meaningless. Just because something worked for you personally, doesn't mean it works for the public at large, due to a myriad of factors, placebo effect being a major one, lack of control being another.

Also, if you actually read the report, you'd know that cost effectiveness was one part, clinical effectiveness was a bigger part, with diet and lifestyle being the top recommendation, NOT drugs.

My comment about using drugs is because people keep getting advised to see their doctor. In UK that means a general practitioner. They usually just give you a prescription and shoo you out their door.

People should try things for themselves. Because that report recommends not trying Aloe Vera means some people who might have experienced relief from years of pain and stress with IBS now might not because Aloe might be the thing that works with their physiology .

(I did read the whole report - I'm sorry I didn't clarify my last sentence was a separate statement)
