Jiu Jitsu NSV

Back in July I finally decided to go for a goal and joined an MMA gym. This past Saturday I competed in my very first Jiu Jitsu tournament! I was so out of shape when I joined the gym and now my cardio is a million times better! I lost both of my matches at the tournament but I was so happy that I even competed. Now I know where to improve and hopefully next time I'll be in a lower weight class. Only up from here!! =)

Way to go! Jiujitsu is tough..good job on getting in there an competing..sure it is nice to win but even if you don't the experience itself of preparing, dealing with the jitters, fighting someone new is so valuable!! I love martial arts..great for fitness!

@JillianP00 - Jiu jitsu is ROUGH! I do a lot of martial arts. Rolling (jiu jitsu) is very tough and it's requires a crap ton of endurance and cardio. It doesn't look like it but as you know from participating in tournaments it's no joke. Ton of core and back. You should be extremely proud of yourself.

    Great job :)

Love Jiu Jitsu (I'm sure you do gi tournament, which is harder IMO in technique) and wish I had more time to do it myself.
Can never find instruction time that doesn't interfere with my work and workout schedule. For now, I just sporatically do it with my BIL who is a certified instructor when I see him.
