I cannot eat breakfast before 10am. It leaves me constipated for days and sometimes I cannot physically eat breakfast. It hurts my stomach and I feel like crap the entire day. What can I do?
Things I try to eat for breakfast:
- Oatmeal
- Eggs and toast
- Ramen noodle
- Fruits
- Peanut butter and jelly sandwich
- Protein bar
- Pop Tart

skip breakfast?0

I didn't eat breakfast before I started MFP. Since I started, I drink a protein shake for breakfast. I wait until I get to work(about 2 hours after I get up) to drink it.0
-
Then don't eat it. Eat when suits you and your body.0

This morning I decided to drink the protien shake after I walk this afternoon. This morning I had a fiber bar and bottle of water. A fiber bar in the morning should help with the constipation problem.0

Isn't it bad to skip breakfast?0

Isn't it bad to skip breakfast?
No.
Unless perhaps not eating breakfast causes you to binge later in the day. But if you are happy sticking to your calorie goal without breakfast then do that.0 -

They say eating breakfast within the first hour of waking up helps get your metabolism going for the day. I hate eating breakfast myself. I found that if I drink a V8 fruit drink - - the hundred calorie cans, and eat a yogurt, I'm good until around lunch time. Maybe try something where you're drinking the calories vs eating them.0

You can skip it as long as you're mindful of what you're eating the remainder of the day. I had a personal trainer who told me (I can't eat right away in the morning, so I also end up skipping breakfast) to make smoothies for breakfast and that did work for me. Breakfast is important and skipping it is "bad" because you use that meal to lay the foundation for the rest of the day, so if you miss it, you may overcompensate throughout the day and end up binging.0

Yes. 600-700 calories is way less than you probably should be eating. MFP has a warning message pop up if you eat less than 1200 calories. Either try to get more in later in the day or maybe try eating a small breakfast to get your body used to eating breakfast again.
I didn't eat breakfast for years and when I tried to eat it my stomach just wouldn't feel well. After eating breakfast for a few weeks my body got used to it and I get hungry in the mornings now. I usually eat 2 eggs and a piece of toast these days. When I started eating breakfast again I had cerial.
Try getting to your calorie goal each day by either eating breakfast or eating more later in the day. You don't have to reach the calorie goal every day, but your average calorie intake should be close to it. If you're having trouble meeting your goal still, try eating some peanutbutter or ice cream if you can eat those. They're calorie dense .0 -
Just eat when you are hungry. I haven't had a morning breakfast in such a long time. Never eat before 1pm
As long as you hit your calories/macros at the end of the day it's all good0 -
The breakfast controversy. lol
Really it does not matter. But if your body is telling you no, then it's no.
I do better when I eat breakfast. I had to start by making smoothies because anything else would make me feel nauseous.
If I skip breakfast I under eat, so I have to have it.
Most important park is to pay attention to your intake. If you can skip it and eat the appropriate number of calories and get your macros and feel full and happy and healthy. Then go on and skip it. If not.. try something small and light or try drinking breakfast instead of eating it. There's a ton of yummy healthy smoothie recipes out there.
I also added apple and peanut butter as a mid morning snack. Light, calorie dense, healthy, satisfying. and it didn't make me so full i'd feel sick.
It's really easy to go back to skipping it and back to under eating, so keep searching until you find what you can tolerate, and eventually your body will adjust and you'll be able to eat a variety of things in the morning.0 -

You may want to figure out what makes eating at that time a day such an issue, since it's certainly unusual. Constipated for days? And you sometimes can't "physically eat?" You have more serious issues going on.
And no, there's nothing magical about eating a meal upon waking (i.e. "breakfast"). It can be safely skipped.
Although, as I said above, if it were me, I'd want to identify what's wrong.
ETA: After subsequently reading your "is 700 calories a day bad?" question, I realize that I wasted my time responding. It did seem like a strange issue, but I gave the benefit of the doubt. That'll teach me.0 -

Eat something at 10:30? Also since you're barely eating at all anyway you should try and eat more calorie dense foods. More Fiber might help the constipation.0 -
Don't eat breakfast then. I don't think it's a big deal. I don't eat breakfast. I have an early/larger lunch when I can. When I'm in uni early I'll have a banana or something0

Eat if your hungry.................don't eat if your not. Listen to your body.
Some days I barely eat anything because I am not hungry and other days I eat a lot because I am more hungry...........eating and weight loss is not linear..............it all balances out in the end.
I never force myself to eat if I don't feel hungry.0
