Best shoes for Shin Splints?

Options
I've had Shin Splints my whole life. I can run about 2 days a week (3 miles per session) and after my first run, my shins are already killing. Then I have to take a week off.
I've done research, and should probably see a doctor, but I'm on a tight budget and hoping new/appropriate shoes could help. Any suggestions on shoes that have worked for you? Preferably around $100 or so? Less would be better! Any other advice is appreciated as well.

It's going to depend on your feet, stride, etc., I'd imagine. If they're that bad, I'd suggest getting a gait analysis and fitted at a running store, specifically telling them your issue.

It's not shoes that are going to help. Get a pair of calf stabilizers. They are a neoprene sleeve that stabilize your calf and shin. Trust me, they work. I have had shin splints since I was a kid, bought a pair of these and haven't had any issues since.

I had issues with shin splints and decided to get new shoes. Went to my local running store where they watched me on a treadmill and decided I needed better shoes with more stability. Talked to them for a while, they recommended some shoes...so I went online and found similar ones for half the price. Haven't had issues since

I would agree with getting a specialist fitting and some gait analysis.
And looking around online for a better deal is a good idea too.
