Not really “Food & Nutrition”, but I couldn’t find a fitting board…

I am a 28 year old single female with no pre-existing health conditions. For myself alone, I pay $150 monthly for health insurance premiums through my (HUGE company corporate) job.

That seems really expensive to me…

Anyone feel comfortable sharing their cost for comparison?

I pay $0 because my employer decided to cover 100% of our premiums. Sorry yours is such a cheapskate :)

My husband works for a global company that has over 100,000 employees. And their insurance is :grumble: Family of five, no health problems. It's an HSA-we pay $400 a month in premiums for a high deductible plan. Our deductible is $3,000 before the insurance pays a penny. After we hit $3,000 it then goes to 80/20, where we pay another 20% of medical costs, up to another $5,000 out of pocket. After that it goes to 100% coverage. We pay out of pocket for everything up to that $3,000, except for annual well checkups and routine lab work/vaccinations. Two of my kids have bronchitis right now-for two 'sick' visits to the pediatrician and two prescriptions it cost us over $300 out of pocket :frown:

I just checked the rates under ObamaCare for Utah (which tends to be cheap) for a 27 year old. For the Silver plan (the worst one) the range goes from $180 to $280 depending on your county. And that is for the WORST (Silver) plan. The Gold and Platinum plans, I've heard, can double that price or more.

These Obamacare plans have higher co-pay than your corporate plans in most cases also.

My advice, enjoy your corporate plan while you can because in the next year or two you are likely to be "assimilated."

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
