OK, been strick now for 3 days on Atkins, (thanx to a few on here with all the encouragement), if it works for me, do it.

Thank you all for the support.

It would be so great to be 10 lbs lighter bu my birthday 8-17.

Why couldn't I get in my head a few months ago??

Guess I was just feeling sorry for myself.

No more. I am going to do this.

I remember being on atkins....a few years ago. It did not work for me because I drank tons of diet soda and other artificial sweeteners. I quit it the day that I couldn't stop shaking (remember the "Shelby drink your juice" scene in Steel Magnolias?? OJ did the trick.) Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it.....I have found that just watching the calories and exercising works much better. I never gave it a try and would always fail on the latest fad diet. Now I'm down 7 lbs and am really happy to do it the way the body intends.....minus the bad breath and gas with Atkins...

thanx for the concern, but I have to say, it works for me. I went from 238 to 200 and felt so good, then I had a few episodes in my life like deatha nd family crap and I just started eating, everything. I have to get on the ball and make it stick this time.

It's not for everyone though, I think we should all be careful when it comes to dieting and plans.....
  • I agree on the calories. My Dr. said that was the best. It's hard because I love to eat, and I love to cook. But with the grace of God I'm going to stick to it. Now is I could just get myself to exercise more lol.

Just curious do you log your foods if so how many carbs are you you having a day and how many calories are you eating?

I remember doing the carb plan years ago and I wasn't that far off of 1200 calories a day keeping the carbs around 50 a day. I did well with it but got tired after a while

    Wishing you much success :drinker:

I do under 50, 1200 or less cals. I just can't eat that much. I have tried. I think my weekness in the past was junk food, but when I log it, I think, OMG, I am such nad pig and I am honestly uncomfortably stuffed.

I log my food on the same web I always have and it down loads to my excel sheet to chart mt weight with a formula.

Hey, I know some people that have done the Atkins diet and it has drastically improved their health. My father-in-law had some heart issues and had the "router-rooter"(I know that can't be spelled right-but it's how it sounds) procedure done. He then had to lower his cholesterol. He brought his overall cholesterol to a healthy level, he lost weight (which he really wasn't that overweight to begin with), but most of all he lowered his "bad cholesterol" and raised his "high cholesterol". Good luck to you.
