If your goal is to gain muscle, it is likely that your body fat % would go up during the process. Since ab definition is more about BF% than anything else, is it a waste of time to work out abs on a bulk or should it still be done to strengthen the muscles? Thanks!

train them for 2 reasons.
1. core strength has an effect on all your lifts
2. when you want to lean out, you need the abs there to show off. Abs are muscles too, and won't get bigger on your cut.0 -
The question is more how does exercise a or b fit into my program?
What's your program? What are your goals?0
