    I heard or read somewhere recently that if you consume too much protein for multiple days in a row that it can give you a bad taste in your mouth accompanied by bad breath.

    I typically eat more protein than that every single day of my life and have never experienced that issue before.

    I have the metallic taste in my mouth, too. It's a side effect of taking Lexapro. There seems to be quite a few anti-depressants that cause it.

    I have been on a high protein diet for about 9 months now and have never had a metal taste in my mouth. I am not saying it can't happen but I never experienced it. If you have tried brushing your teeth or use mouthwash and the taste persists I would see a dr just to rule out anything else that could be going on and unrelated to dieting
