Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred (Knee issues)

I just started the 3rd level of the 30 day shred and my knees are killing me from all the jumping. I figured I would just add a day or 2 in between workouts to let them rest. But I was talking to a friend and she suggested I stop the workout saying that knee pain is not good (and lovingly reminded me of other stupid things I've done when I didn't listen to her, lol). Anyway, at first I thought no I have to finish, etc etc. But then realized she is probably right. She always is.

I think it is all the jump squats, jump lunges, etc. I love Jillian though. I get all of my exercising off Amazon Instant Stream or You Tube so they're free (or a couple dollars). Anybody have any suggestions for other other Jillian workouts that are lower impact on the knees? I looked at the reviews for the Ripped in 30 days and that looks similar to the Shred.

Not sure if my experience is the same as yours but I killed my kness after doing level 1 of 30DS :(. Never had issues with my knees, after working out they were painful to stand up/sit down, they clicked and I could generally tell I knackered up my ligaments. This was probably about 6 month's ago. I stopped and just did other exercises. I started 30DS again a month ago and ive had NO knee trouble at all, ended up that I was doing the moves wrong and over exerting my knee on certain moves (lunges etc). This might not be the same for you, but just check your movements to cross it out.

    Best of luck hun.

I had horrible knee problems the first time I did 30DS. Of course, that was the first workout DVD I ever did so I probably wasn't doing the moves as correctly as I should've been. I still do it sometimes and don't have knee problems now. So I agree, check your movements first.

I replace some of the exercises that are hardest on my knees with ones that are easier on my knees. That way I can keep doing 90% of the video and I save my knees. I also always wear my running shoes and do the video on a soft surface in my house.
