My husband has a reaccurance of cancer...I lost 65 lbs and now that I'm taking care of him I've started to gain weight, emotionally eating. I need to get the 15 lbs off I've gained but I don't seem to be able to keep my head in the right place. I need hints to help me get back.....

I'm so sorry to hear about what's going on with you and your husband. I have a some ideas that may help but it would be a novel here on a forum, why not friend me and we'll message!0

Posting on MFP is a mental distraction for me. Just don't have food in reach while you do it though, that leads to "mindless snacking."0

And in all seriousness, if you don't belong to a gym, join one. Get out of the house, and go some place to exercise. Exercise is a huge stress reliever. If if you aren't running marathons, being out of the house and having a routine that includes exercise will help.0

The problem is that my husband doesn't like the taste of good food but he likes sweets and salty food now that he is having chemo. He is dropping weight and the dr. wants him to eat what he can. So now there is stuff in the house that hasn't been here for over 3 years.
I walk every day, dance twice a week and zumba once a week. I need to get focused again.0 -
This must be so hard for you. Chemo definitely does that. And they have to try to gain weight! Do you have to prepare his meals? That would be extremely difficult. Maybe put his snacks and things in a big Rubbermaid box and it's off limits to you. Buy them, but tell yourself that they're not even an option. Keep them separated from your food. Put a small Rubbermaid in the fridge if you have to. If you have to prepare his meals, maybe now that it's cooler, stick with soups and stews that can go over high carb pasta for him and brown rice for you. You can even cook large pots of rice and keep it in the fridge to portion out at dinnertime.
I'm sorry you are dealing with the food struggle. As if his cancer isn't enough...
You'll get through this. Just don't beat yourself up. He needs a happy and healthy wife

Thanks for the advise....I do have to cook for him, I cook healthy but he doesn't eat too much of what I make. I will put his JUNK food in a container so when I go into the pantry it is not in my eye sight.0
