51 yr old male 300 lbs with an old knee injury that limits my exercise. Any advice on things I can do to burn calories

Swimming or a pool workout is always a great low impact, high calorie burning activity. You can also try walking, biking, or elliptical training.0

Walk, walk, walk. Walking is really under rated. It is good for your legs, good for your core muscles and good for your heart. Be consistent and you might be surprised how much success you have. Good luck.0

Eat at a deficit. You don't have to exercise to lose weight. As the weight comes off you may find that your joints won't be as angry with you and you'll be able to do more.0

Yeah, eat less fewer calories. And try to limit carbohydrates until you get active again.
Cycling or an exercise bike might be knee-friendly. Check google for how to adjust the seat height (the wrong height can hurt the knees).
And there's upper body strength training, and some lower body lifts like Romanian Deadlifts.0
