How often do you weight yourself?

I wasn't going to buy a scale. But then I did. And as in the past, I'm obsessed with it. And I hate that because the numbers rule my mood. I think the hardest part of my new "lifestyle" is trying not to weigh myself too much. But I do have to keep track at some point of weight loss. I don't think I just want to do this all blindly without knowing if I'm making progress. But I hate this obsession I seem to have...

So, how often do you weigh yourself? Anyone else obsessed with the numbers like me?

Thanks!

I weigh daily, same time each day, but only log my Friday morning weight for my 'official' tracking.

I'm trying to stop doing daily as I'm fully aware the numbers can fluctuate for a number of reasons.

Honestly, the scale is the LEAST reliable indicator of weight loss success. Your weight fluctuates HOURLY and it doesn't reflect muscle building, water retention and more. I weigh myself every two weeks or so but what I prefer is PHOTOS! Last year I did a workout program where, at the end of it, the scale told me I GAINED 10lbs but putting my befores and afters together I looked like I had lost 20 lbs! I don't know about you but I'd rather look smaller than see what's on the scale!

Take photos regularly, measure yourself and gauge how you feel in your clothes, that's really the best way to go at it! I actually threw my scale out and lived without it for over a year so I could work on my mindset around the numbers! Yikes!

I would get on the scale every morning and then again at night. I would only log in once a week on Wednesdays. I became pretty obsessed with the darn thing that I stopped weighing myself for the month of November. It was hard the first day but I have gotten used to it and am actually looking forward to December 1st when I log again. Trying to love my body with how I feel and not by the number on the scale.

I'm currently part of a group that is only weighing ourselves twice a month. But before that I would hop on the scale every few days just to check in, and "officially" weigh myself once a week, same day, same time, same scale.
  • Went from once at the end of the week to once at the end of the month.

I'm thinking of having my sister or someone take my scale from me and only allow me to use it once a month. It may be best for my sanity! I have willpower for food, but not for weighing myself, apparently.

I weigh myself daily, but only use Friday's weight to record. I'm in the early stages of my weight loss journey and am really interested to see if any sort of patterns develop, ie "if I drink x amount of water, it has this type of effect on my weight".

I'm just super analytical in general. While I'm interested in possible trends, I don't really focus on them and am just looking to see how I am doing week to week.
