Logging Bodyweight Circuit

Hey all,

I have just started doing the beginners bodyweight circuit over at Nerd Fitness - http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/

Just wondering how to log this? I know that bodyweight training is calisthenics - but does it make a difference that this a circuit?

Should I be logging it as calisthenics or circuit training?

Also, there are two options for calisthenics - light to moderate (burns 88 calories for 20 mins) or vigorous (burns 201 calories). I think I'm somewhere in the middle but it's hard to know - if you are doing a bodyweight circuit would you classify that as more vigorous?

Thanks for your help!

I do a lot of body weight and it always feels way more intense to me than any machine workout. I track it as vigorous.

I would say to stick with the lower calculation, especially if you're eating back your calories. I like using my HRM for that kind of stuff.

    Thanks for your thoughts!

I know a HRM would be more accurate, but I don't have one yet.

Anyone else have an idea about this?

Your choice. Circuit training and Calisthenics have the same burn rate on mfp.
