apples to oranges...giving both programs maximum effort, P90X will give you better results0

Losing body fat will result in a leaner midsection.
That can be accomplished with almost any training program. Strength training will help you achieve those results faster, however. I would recommend Strong Lifts 5x5 for heavy lifting or a progressive body weight training program like You Are Your Own Gym.0
