whatever fruits and veg are in season - I'm really bummed that there is only one more week for our local farmer's market b/c I always shop their first for the freshest. I also keep my trips focused on the perimeter of the store as those are the most healthy sections. I also ignore the end caps 'cause that's where the marketing folks put the temptations (i.e. SALES). I survey my freezer for meats since I tend to buy what's on sale and stock up. Hubby likes Amy's or Fig's low calorie boxed soups and I ALWAYS have a box of low-sodium veg, beef and chicken stock on the shelf so I can whip up a quick gravy or soup during the week when I'm too tired to make from scratch. Then it's on to dairy - 1/2 n 1/2 for coffee, sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt and THEN it's OMG we have 5 different kinds of cheese at home do you need to buy another? That would be me imploring my cheese-oholic husband to "put it back." Grab the coconut water on the way to the reg and we're out the door. Unless a pretty flower bouquet catches my eye :flowerforyou:0
