My husband and I are currently traveling in our RV. Any tips or ideas on ways to stay fit while traveling by RV?

Be sure to take your walking boots and explore the towns and national parks during your holiday.
I would also be inclined to take my gym gear and attend RPM classes as a casual at gyms, and my swimming gear and go swimming in the local olympic pools. If you've got bikes, you might be able to fit them in the campervan and you could go cycling as well. I think there could be lots of opportunities to maintain your fitness.
Enjoy your holiday!
kind regards,

We always take our running shoes and bikes. Since weights are too bulky and heavy, I focus on bodyweight work. I have taken a set of dumbbells and resistance bands, but I found that I still end up doing push-ups, squats, and other bodyweight stuff instead.0

We do a lot of hiking when we are camping. We did a month long family road trip 2 summers ago and I came home thinner than we left even though I stopped counting calories. I am also a runner and my greatest running moment was running out of Zion National park at sunrise (took the first bus into the narrows and ran back to town).0

These are all great suggestions. Keep 'em coming!0

I do enjoy hiking, running, and walking. I would love to get a bicycle on the road and it is in the works. It is myself, my husband, and our Weimaraner. We are full time now as opposed to on holiday. I work remotely on the computer 5 days a week.
My challenges have been finding good exercises when we are in smaller RV campgrounds. There is not always the beach to run along in the morning or large areas to adventure and hike, depending where we are. The RV is smaller so it is not realistic to do exercises inside. I like the idea of dumbbells and resistance bands because they are compact.
I appreciate all the feedback so far!0 -
Kattymatt, I think I am on the same path as you are. Here are some ideas I do while in the trailer. I have started living in my 5th wheel as of 10/31/13 Rule 1: If you watch TV or on Computer, tighten your glutes, off & on. Do this only if alone, unless it turns you on, LOL! Just keep tightening until whatever you are watching is over.
Rule 2: If the phone rings, start walking end to end in your trailor, until you hang up. No sitting while talking, standing is better then sitting if you don't walk. No sitting or laying down while on a phone.
TIPS: I use a stool that spins to sit on, while on my computer. I rest my buttocks on the seat and stand in a stance, while I tighten my butt. Mind you, my stool is custioned. I also twist on the chair if I am sitting. Good for the waist and buring calories is the name of the game. If your feet begin to ache, after 2 hours. You need to invest in good shoes.
If you can make this a habbit, you are doing good. GOOD LUCK!:happy:0 -
Oh!, I forgot to mention, Kattymatt. I have my computer screen sitting directly in view when standing. I do my best to stand instead of sit. If I tire of standing while on the computer, I lean on the chair as described, while standing and tighting my firm butt. LOL!0
