Imperfect food diary buddies?

I'm not new to MFP. I've had a love hate relationship with the app for awhile now. I'm trying to lose about 70 lbs and generally in the past I have tried to go hard work out 2 hours everyday and eat "perfect". Well that would work for a couple of weeks to a month then I would fall off the boat. Now I'm adopting the baby steps method which I can see myself maintaining. I would like to have a few buddies who regularly keep up their food diaries so I can see what works for other people and get some ideas for myself. It would be awesome if I could find others who are also in the beginning stages of taking baby steps so we could grow together as well as keep an eye on each others food diaries.

I was where you were 5 months ago. I used the app two years prior to lose 40 lbs but I did in a way I personally could not maintain and ended up bouncing back. Now, I'm down 40 lbs again but this time is different. I'm cutting nothing from my diet. Instead, I'm making choices to meet my nutrient needs, while still treating myself every day. It's a balancing act to me. If you'd like to add me, my diary is always open. I also weight lift 3x a week, which is an exercise I have fallen in love with.

I like that never give up attitude, use it to your benefit!
If I might throw a few thoughts your way; find a happy compromise between too much and too little work. Your first time it seems like you might have burnt yourself out and could not maintain it in the long term. Start with little stuff like you mentioned and build it to a level you are comfortable with and happy with. Set goals and as you progress set new goals so that you are always aiming for something. It's good to have both long and short term ones. Get it set in your mind that this may take a while but when you change your lifestyle it will stick with you, even slow progress is progress!

I wish you all the best in reaching your goals! Although I do not do the diary checking thing, feel free to friend me if you like.
