12 grain Carbs

Hello,

I have dropped from 167 to 137 and now I am slowly going lower and lower. I have done this by eating very little white carbs, and eating/choosing healthier foods.

I am curious, what are the pros of 12 grain carbs? I go to school where there is a Tim Hortons and usually order a large black coffee as well as a 12 grain bagel with butter - the Myfitnesspal app says it is a total of 330 calories.

If I start eating 12 grain bagels, do any of you believe I will gain weight? I'm not quite sure if I truly understand the 1200 caloric intake (this is my calorie level per day)... Before the myfitnesspal I literally just ate no carbs and went on with my life, and now that im watching my calorie intake, it seems a whole lot more restrained for me. I am eating less, I feel a lot lighter than before I started the myfitnesspal journal writing.

I'm not sure exactly whether I'm going to answer your question, but I'll take a stab at it.

Basically, if your calorie goal is 1200 per day, eating 330 calories with a 12-grain bagel will not cause you to gain weight as long as you don't go over your total goal of 1200 in the day. If you can fit 330 calories for a bagel into your day, then you're good to go! If, however, you have trouble meeting your calorie goal over the course of the day, you'll probably want to reconsider. Perhaps you would only eat half the bagel instead of the whole one.

The thing about eating protein versus other sorts of foods is that it helps you feel fuller for a longer period of time. So eating pure carb for breakfast might not get you through the morning until your next meal. Then again, it might.

    Does that help?
  • Hi! Thanks so much for answering me! That actually answered my question about whether or not this calorie diet does work. I'm actually seeing results but because of my quick loss of weight, I really do owe it to my not eating so many carbs.

My question is, do you think that eating 12 grain will make me gain weight? Besides the calorie diet. I'm wondering since I have cut out carbs, going back to eating the 12 grain bagel will affect my body?

You know how they say, if you cut out carbs, and you go back to them, you gain double the weight? I was wondering if my cutting out white carbs, will my weight be affected if I go back to eating 12 grain bagels?

Thank you and I'm so sorry if I'm confusing! It's hard for me to explain it :)

I think it would depend on the person as to what would happen when reintroducing carbs. I would say slowly start incorporating them into your diet and maybe work up to a bagel, especially since bagels are carb loaded. you mostly likely wont gain as long as you continue to stick to your calories and exercise.
  • Thank you very much, I appreciate all of your help :) I will start doing that as I gain and lose weight quite easily!!! :) thank yiu
