I had a week break back to home. Had lots of chocolates. Gained a kg, but was definite, that I would shed it easily. Has been a week now. Have gained back all weight, although am not eating the total calories. Started regular exercise too. Nothing seems to help. I have water retention problem as PMS. But my date is 2 weeks later. F1! F1! F1!

If you're not eating "all your calories," then that is probably the root of your problem. You have to eat the minimum that MFP suggests, which is always 1200 calories, and for most people, including you, that is too little.

Please see the posts below--they stress the need to get enough calories per day.

I do eat all 1200 calories plus the exercise calories. But I keep i 100-400 short. Hoping it would help me get rid of some weight.

your deficit is built in you dont need to keep it short , if you go to your home page and go into goals it shows it is built in. Read the links they help a whole bunch. Good luck. :drinker:

And, 1200 is not enough for you--please read the previous posts about why that is too low a number for you at your stage.
  • Hi, I'm having the same problem with my scale too. I've been limiting my calories, which hasn't been easy around two skinny daughters who can eat anything and wear bikinis and a husband who likes to eat out. I am working out for an hour everyday on my elliptical trainer, and what I've realized is that my body is shrinking. My jeans are definitely looser. I started keeping track of my inches, neck, bust, waist, and hips; those were the numbers that were going down. The muscle mass was tipping the scales and the fat, which was taking up more space but weighed less, was going.
As far as the fluid retention goes, brew up a pitcher of weak green tea and keep it in the fridge. Sip the tea all day long over ice. The tea will keep you energized and is a diuretic. Hopefully, that will help. Two other tricks I found for fluid retention: Parsley (make tea or eat it.) and aspargus, lots of it.
    I hope this helps!

Could you actually be PMS'ing? You know when you spend a lot of time around other women, your cycle can change. I wouldn't be surprised...it feels like PMS, it might just be PMS! Good luck to you!

Its not even the inch loss. My Jeans got fitter, which was going loose. Anyways, thanks a lot! Will try the green tea, and Parsley too.

I went through the post. Yeah! It really helps. Am 500 calorie deficient, I knew. Was so desperate to see some wight loss, that tried keeping calorie intake short too.
    Thank you guys.
    Will act on your advices.
