Apparently, Norwegian researchers have created a fairly accurate formula for figuring out VO2 Max. Thought I would share

Your VO2MAX is calculated to be
46
and your estimated "fitness age" is
younger than 20
^Pretty good for an "older" chick.0 -
Mine is 26. Exactly half my age. :drinker:0

EDIT: I suppose that is good, since I'm 32. I don't know what the first number mean, though. I guess I need to actually read what's on the site!0 -
VO2MAX of 52 and fitness age of under 20! Not bad for a 41 year old on her way back from surgery who smoked until 19 months back!0
-
I don't really trust this since its says I am younger than 200
-
says I'm 31 in age. Welp, not too bad considering I'm 33. >.>0

vo2 max of 54 and age of 22. Not bad for a nearly 40 year old "adult onset athlete"0

I don't really trust this since its says I am younger than 20
Consider it binary. Under 20 = good. Over 20 = you betta werk!0 -

I got the exact results as well. Not sure how accurate this is though. Lol0 -
Fitness age = 26
Real age = 53
VO2 max from online calculator = 53
VO2 max when I tested on a Concept2 rower = 48
Guessing my fairly low resting heart (49 bpm) rate skewed the figures a bit.0 -
My fitness age is 30. Not bad for a 50yo granny!!!0

Younger than 20! I'm 260

Same issue with the low resting heart rate...
Fitness age = less than 20
Real age = 35
VO2 max from online calculator 47
Resting heart rate 44-48 bpm....for no reason other than genetics! I've only recently (past 3 weeks) given up a 20+ year smoking habit and taken up regular exercise, so I know my resting heartrate is not down to a lifetime of great lifestyle choices!0 -
I'm not buying it...mine says younger than 20 and I can assure you, as fit as I am now...and I'm pretty fit right now...I'm nowhere near as fit as I was in my late teens or even early 20s. Hell, I was 3rd in state in the 100 meters when I was 17...god only knows where I'd clock in now.0

There is no answer to this, fit = good cardiovascular, as well as muscle endurance, strength, flexibility, etc.
At one point or another, high school sports will or have conditioned one area or the others very well to meet the demand of that particular sport, but don't mistake it for being your fittest era.
As you get older and develop into those areas, you'll only get more fit.
p.s I didn't do the counter, doesn't seem beneficial, but just for kicks
Good luck.0 -
younger then 20! This is awesome, I am 43!0

Real age 310 -
Fitness age is less than 20, and my actual age is 26.
However, I do not see how this will make a big difference between a skinny fat person and a skinny fit person? Maybe from the resting heart rate?
I know a lot of people who have skinnier waist lines than me who haven't got the same level of cardio fitness (and I am not claiming to be very fit. I can last an hour long intense Zumba class without too much discomfort, that is about it).0 -
Actual age; 43
VO2MAX; 46
