I already have a beach vacation planned with my mom for the upcoming year but me and a friend want to go on vacation somewhere. She too is going on a beach vacation so we are trying to think of a cool place to go for a week that is not "beachy". It can be anywhere in the world....

    Holy moly...anywhere in the world? I'd say Sweden, Germany, or Austria.

    For my own tighter budget, the mountains of Colorado are a nice place ;-)

    This is such an open ended question. What do you want to do: hike, relax, adventurous ect.. There are so many places to choose from depending on your interests.

    I'm trying to decide between New Orleans, the Smokey Mountains or the beach for next summer.

    But if I could go anywhere, I think it might be Fiji. Or back to visit my family in England. Or a beer tour of Belgium.

    Massanutten Resort in VA is really nice. There's hiking, biking, horseback riding, golf, swimming, skiing, tubing, zip-lining, etc....
    We went there in July and really enjoyed it and we've also been at Christmas.

    Places I'd recommend based off of my travels-

    India- Delhi, The Golden Triangle, Hyderabad, Ellora and Ajanta Caves, Hampi, and I've heard great things about Kerala for non beach things

    Vietnam is super cool. Ho Chi Minh city is worth seeing, as is Hanoi, but there is a city just south of Danang called Hoi An that is incredible, especially the food. Also, from Hoi An, you can get to some cool ancient ruins and war sites if you're interested in that part of history.

    Rome, Florence, etc

    Paris

    Wales- so I was there visiting a friend and want to go back because I missed everything that wasn't on the south western part of the coast.

    I'd recommend hiking at Glacier National Park, but if you're going between now and June it's impassible. I guess there's good skiing near there and it it's a beautiful area.

    I might be heading to Addis Ababa and other parts of Ethiopia in the next year, you could go ahead of me and let me know how it is (my brother is there now)

    I'm fairly desperate to go to Istanbul, Kiev, Prague, Budapest, Moscow, and about a 100 other places all over the world, so in this for the rest of the list.
