So I had told myself that once I reached my first weight goal I was going to go to the Olive Garden. Before you tell me food as a reward is a no no...listen one sec. I have craved this forever. I am a food junkie and I have done really well to make my first goal of 159 (originally started at 185 almost 2 years ago). When I went to the Olive garden I only netted 1875 calories, which is only 50 cal over my 'maintenance' limit (this was last Saturday if you want to see in my diary). The morning after I noticed crazy bloating and 3 extra pounds on the scale. Since then I have only been able to drop 1 pound of that. I know these 2 pounds can't be fat...right?
What on earth can I do to get rid of this stuff?! I will certainly rethink alfredo after this...

It will drop back off.
Patience, Grasshopper. You know it isn't fat you gained.
Stay off the scale for a couple/few days.0 -
You ate 10,500 EXTRA calories at Olive Garden?
No, you didn't. You likely ate a ton of salt, and a lot of carbs. In other words: you're retaining water. Drink more water, and move more and it will go away.
Oh, and have a pooh.0 -
Drink plenty of water. Have a poop. You'll be back to normal soon. :blushing: :flowerforyou:
Congrats on your goal and on Olive Garden, that's some good stuff.0 -
Relax. Deep breaths. Check your sodium for that day. I will bet anything that it is through the roof! It always is at most chains and Olive Garden is one of the worst. It's water bloat.
It's okay. It will come back off within a day or two. Water, potassium rich foods and a little patience, no long term damage done0 -
It's water...too much sodium (restaurant food in general has **** tons of sodium). You can't gain 3 Lbs of fat in one day...it is mathematically and scientifically impossible. Also, maintenance is going to be a real mind **** for you if you don't understand natural body weight fluctuations...nobody weighs exactly XXX Lbs...you are going to have a range of about 5 Lbs or so either way.0
