Foreign languages are a passion of mine, so I'm interested to know about anyone else who also loves other languages and language learning.
1. Are you fluent (or almost fluent) in more than one language?
2. What language is it? How did you learn it?
3. Are you trying to learn any additional languages?
4. Why?

I'll start :)

I am fluent in American Sign Language. Both of my older borthers were born deaf, so I learned it at the same time (if not before) I learned English. I'm also currently learning French and German and I hope to learn Gaelic someday. I'm interested in learning the languages of my heritage :)

Also, my grandfather is fluent in German and my grandmother is fluent in French, and it would be cool to be able to have a conversation with them in either language.

    1. Yes
    2. Spanish; took classes in hight school, majored in it in college, studied in Costa Rica for a semester while living with a host family
    3. If I ever find the time! Right now teaching international grad students, working and getting my Master's is enough. I'm learning a lot about Chinese now since my students are 95% Chinese, so that would be cool (and useful).
    4. I wanted to be a Spanish teacher, but now I'm in a Master's program to teach ESL. I'd be happy doing either, though!
