Hello everyone,

I stumbled upon this sight yesterday when looking for something to help me in tracking my weight loss goals..I just turned 40 and on a quest to lose 75-85 lbs..currently I weigh 220. I gained weight slowly over the past 20 years, lost a little gained it back here an there, but the bulk of the wieght seemed to have snuck in over the past 5 years.

My eating habits have been horrible ...I'm also a Diet Coke addict and at least am trying to quit cold turkey...so far 2 days and its rough! Its the thing that I think sabatoges my diet every time...seems as soon as I start drinking the diet coke again I soon start slipping into my old eating habits..

Hoping this sight will keep me on track and inspired.

  • Hi! And welcome to MFP :flowerforyou: I'm only a week in, and I absolutely love it here!!! If I were you, I would just follow the guide set for you on Caloric Intake...At this point, I wouldn't quit my Diet Cokes..at all..Just add water to your beverage intake..that's just my view :) I have to have my diet drinks too...DIET COKE IS MY FRIEND>>>UNTIL WATER TAKES OVER FIRST PLACE :)
I know its not the best thing for us, but gradual change works better for me...GOOD LUCK!

I'm new here also... I have been on my journey for months.
  • Welcome to MFP, it is a really great site and there is a lot of support. I was a diet pepsi freak, now I am but suffer through it. Maybe once a month I let me self have one or two if I am having people over. I have noticed the last couple of times it makes me feel not so good. So I am hoping the longer the stretches in between the worse it makes me feel until when I look at it I just go UGH@!!@, rather than oh how I would love to open you. Lol, so ya I can relate to your diet coke thing:)

Feel free to add me as a friend, the more the marrier.
