cheated for a whole week and lost motivation

Hey guys, I did this 150 km bike ride and was eating A LOT over the 3 days of the ride (and a few days before) for energy. I came back from the trip and gained 2 kilos since I kept eating a lot on the days I wasn't riding. Any ideas on how to get re-motivated and get off this cycle? I'm doing better today but I'm having strong cravings after eating anything I wanted for a week. I still have a way to go for my final goal weight and I need to go back to my healthier eating habits.

    Well done on the bike ride, remember why you started and just think you may be feeling how you do why your body stores water to recover from the mammoth exercise.

    You will get back to it and remember we all have days when we don't won't to follow the plan, but keep going and your mojo will return :wink:

    I understand- I was close (within 4lbs) to my goal weight, then my husband and I found out we were moving back to Hawaii- in the interim, we spent 3 months visiting family, traveling, etc while we got everything in order. I gained 14lbs- I was eating all the good homecooked Polish food I hadn't had access to in ages. When I had to get back into the swing of things, it was tough. But the way I started to think about it was, "If I don't do something and start eating right and exercising, I could easily gain ANOTHER 14lbs!"

    Also, I've stopped thinking of it as a linear journey. There WILL be weeks when I'm on target, lose weight (or, once I get a little closer to my goal, maintain while working out to gain muscle), and there WILL be weeks when I gain a little for one reason or another. For example, I will be working out extra hard during the weeks leading up to the holiday season, because I know I will enjoy a little extra and maybe gain a pound or two- that's ok, I can lose it in the next week :) You 2kg gain is a blip on a lifelong radar- keep going with what you were doing before. It doesn't have to be the beginning of an upward trend on the scale.

    Also, weight fluctuates, so it may just be water weight. KEEP GOING! You are doing something awesome for your body, and the fact that you fueled your body for the ride is nothing to worry about.
