I'm excited about finally being finished with steroids and other medications to get my allergies/food allergies BACK under control! Am now working on eating right and exercising, but am stumped about not getting bored with those foods on my 'okay to eat' list. No wheat, corn (nothing stored in silos that can mold - allergic to mold), mushrooms, tomatoes, chocolate, peanuts, dairy, yeast.... sigh. Most canned/boxed items contain something I have to avoid, so fresh is the way I have to go.
If you have ANY great recipes that just use plain old meat, veggies and fruit, please SHARE!!
Thank you all!

I have the PERFECT recipe. I found it online, and I absolutely LOVE it! I've recommended it to everyone more than once! LOL Here it is: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Stuffed-Peppers-with-Turkey-and-Vegetables/Detail.aspx

Sorry to hear you are so allergic to food. On a good note, the best solution is to go to sites like Food Network or other recipe sites. Search for natural items that you can eat, such as meat. Then, observe the ingredients called for in the recipe. Anything that is canned or processed, search for a natural or fresh alternative that won't contain anything you are allergic to. Also, it is very easy to alter recipes to meet your dietary needs.

Fruit salad, chicken salad, chicken lettuce wraps (look up PF Changs recipe), tacos, beef stew, anything stir fry are some good examples. Just make sure the ingredients you get are all fresh. Also, soups are easy, just make sure to make your own stock, since I am assuming the preservatives may not work for you from store-bought ones.
  • Someone I work with had suggested lettuce wraps, which i had never heard of, so that's one I can't wait to try! To add to my problem, all my girls are away at school/out of the home now, so it's just me and my meat and potatoes hubby, which is also taking some getting used to! Thanks for the great suggestions!!
  • I like turkey, so I'm gonna look that one up! Thanks, and best wishes on reaching your goals!
  • Hi there, I have almost the same allergies as you and a few more and it is tough. I have a cookbook called the Self-Help Allergy cookbook that is wonderful. I bought it online. It has tons of recipes and things to make that actually take good. Hope this helps. Good luck.

    I'm allergic too!!

    Couple of sites to try:

    glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com (ahhh gluten-freedom!!)

papayahead.com (you can create a profile and tell the site what you're allergic too and as you pull up recipes it will tell you if it contains the allergen...)

everydaypaleo.com (whole food type diet that avoids grain and dairy so a lot of her recipes are save for folks like us!)

    Happy Cooking!
