I was doing well and lost a fair amount on a roll. Then I had a night out had drinks and takeaway. Another ttakeaway day after then just couple days of eating bad. Had a friend I haven't seen in a while sTay so was busy and on the go junk. Probes eaten 1000cals over my allowance most days. Really unhappy now as I gained back what I lost in last couple weeks! Doesn't seem to want to go as usual. Normally I drink alot and within a day I lose a few pounds. But this seems stubborn, could this be permanent?

You would have had to have consumed 17,000 calories over what you burned (not your calorie goal) to have put on 5 lbs. Keep drinking your water, get back on track and don't beat yourself up about it. :flowerforyou:0

Oh wow, I think maybe 5000 over at max. So yay for me, I'll push myself harder and drink more in workout tomborrow. Thanks for the ecouragement0

you ate too much, you know it. but you didn't eat 5lb in 4 days worth of enough. Some of the gain might be food, but lots of it will be sodium-triggered water retention, and a digestive system rebelling. Clear it out, bomb water like it's going out of fashion, have a good few days, and see what happens.0

I'm not going to sugar coat this like everyone else. I can't say this for sure, because i don't know how your body works, but for me if I eat too much for a few days I do gain weight that I do not lose. it's not "water weight" like how everyone says it is when you weigh more the next day. Yes, when you eat more than you burn you will gain weight. just get back on track and weigh yourself in a week.0

I just gained 11 in 2 weeks. : )
I'm sort of impressed with my ability to pile on the pounds.
I've been on an extended trip. Just started logging again today. Time will tell how much of it was water weight and how much of it I'll just have to work off like the rest of the world.0 -
Indeed, tbh it's just a number anyway I can't see myself gaining actual 5ibs of fat as soon as this. But anyhow I wI'll work hard and I'm sure will start dropping again!0
