Work out to eat?

Okay, so I'm starting to notice that I seem to be making sure that I work out simply so I can eat more. No, I'm not eating cake, cookies, ice cream, and other bad stuff. It's all good for me stuff...lean proteins, fiber filled foods, veggies, fruits, dairy, etc... I just feel happier when I can snack on low calorie foods throughout the day and when I have enough calories at the end of the day to have a decent dinner (400 calories approximately). The days I don't work out I feel like I don't get enough food and never feel satisfied with my 1200 calories. I know it's a GOOD thing that I'm motivated to work out but I'm wondering if my motivation is a slightly unhealthy. I DO enjoy my workouts when I do them, though. I always feel great afterwards. Does anyone else think this way?

I do the same thing.. I work out to make sure I can have enough calories for my day! I don't think its a bad thing..so long as you aren't feeding your face with Twinkies and Pizza!

I do the same thing. But I personally dont think its unhealthy. I try to work out to eat more, but sometimes I eat too much, then I try and work off some of those extra calories that I've taken in. I don't think its a bad thing at all, I think its me being more disciplined about what I'm eating, and what I'm doing to keep myself healthy. I may be wrong, so someone else may tell us that its completely unhealthy...then maybe I'll have to change my habits.:grumble: haha
One thing I know for sure is that you should eat every last one of those excersize calories to make sure you're body doesnt go into starvation mode. Hope I helped a little:ohwell:

I do it too... it seems to keep the lion of hunger at bay in my mind thinking I'm actually eating more... it definitely works for me! Eventually we'll all get over that quirk... at least I hope I will.

:glasses: :drinker:    I love the fact that we all do the same thing - around our house we have the motto - WILL WORKOUT FOR FOOD...it is so neat to feel that I have earned my treats and extras ( Instead of feeling guilty - I have felt that way most of my life about food... ) Kind of a reverse psychology idea.

I just starting working out this week.....I know , I know ...I should have been doing this all along and probably would have lost more than 45. But, I thought it would be easier to eat the extra calories. I'm finding it hard to get them it now....right now I have an excess of 400 calories to eat and it's almost 7pm. I guess I'm going to have to eat more for breakfast or something.......

Pfft.... that's the only reason I STARTED working out.. I didn't feel full on 1200 cals... the appreciation for the feeling I got after I ground out a couple miles came muuuuuuuuch much later... lol..

I'd like to think I'd work out just for the health benefits, but that doesn't get me out of bed in the morning! Knowing I'll actually get enough to eat during the day does! Who cares what motivates me as long as the end result is good choices and good health?

I hear ya! I do it too, and on the days I decide not to work out I feel like I'm starving myself, so I usually end up exercising anyway!

    I do the same thing...
When I don't want to get out of bed to go to the gym, I remind myself thats 300 calories I don't get to eat.

Also..I walk around to my self saying More Calories, More food...like the six flags commercial where they say more flags, more fun..

    More calories, more food!!
