I am 19 years old, weigh roughly 43 kgs at least I did weigh 43 kgs when I went to the doctors in August and am roughly 145 cms tall, I am trying to lose just a little bit of weight just because I am not happy with how I look, I used to eat a lot of chocolate and have lost 3-5 kgs in the last year, I used to weigh roughly 46-48 kgs so I was wondering if it is ok to have a little bit of chocolate every now and again, if so are Chelsea Eclairs ok to eat in moderation and what chocolate is healthier to eat. Sorry if I am not clear in what I said.

You can chose to eat any food in moderation when you plan it out in your day. For myself I too was chocolate lover when I started changing up what I was eating so I took a chocolate break for awhile so I could get the compulsive eating of sweets more under control. The habit of picking up sweets was pretty strong for me so for myself I found it easier to simply do without for awhile than deal with the possibility of risking a binge on junk food.

We're all different so someone else might be perfectly fine never giving it up even for a short time and eating one piece every so often. :

If I have a sweet craving now I'll grab fruit or a square of dark chocolate (since dark chocolate is never a food I binged on nor is fruit. lol) and occasionally I do regular chocolate but no where NEAR anything like I used too. Nor do I ever want too!:blushing:

As far as healthiest chocolate dark chocolate would fit in that category, less fat and actually healthier for you plus most tend to be satisfied with far less.
  • Moderation is the key. If there isn't a little indulgence, you might go crazy. Just don't make it habit and be sure to work it off.

Forget the eclairs- high in fat and cals- choose chocolate 70% cocca or higher (very dark) less (an ounce) is more satisfying, and high in antioxidants...Lindt is a pretty good brand.

I agree, dark chocolate! I usually keep a bag of Ghiradelli squares (the smaller ones) around. If I get a chocolate craving I have just one square (the serving size states that 1 serving is 4 squares!). Just the one does the trick. I also break it into about 6 smaller pieces and take my time enjoying each bite, don't scarf it down! I would have to say either skip the eclairs or only eat a few small bites if you have the restraint to do so!

Ok then thanks everyone, I have not had a lot of chocolate in the last year, I am normally content with one or two Monte biscuits every couple of days but I don't know if that is a good thing or bad thing, The eclairs came in a lolly bag not that I was going to eat them and I am not a fan of lollies so I gave the bag away.

Oh! "Chelsea Eclairs" I just now looked those up I think some of us were comparing them to US eclairs which are a pastry with creme filing and chocolate frosting. I see they are caramels with filling in your neck of the woods. The biscuits (cookies to us in the US I believe?) every couple days are fine if you figure them in your day which it sounds like you do.

Sounds like you do well in portioning them out:wink: Enjoy :flowerforyou:

Thank you so much for looking them up, I think that I will just buy myself one block of Dark chocolate and stash it in my room and just have one piece every so often, I have only been a part of this community for a week so it is very helpful and I love it,
